Summer 2025
Presence Church
Design Internship
Overview:
Over the summer of 2025, I worked with Presence Church to create a variety of visual materials in preparation for their September launch. My goal was to craft designs that felt warm, welcoming, and cohesive across both digital and physical spaces. I worked on an assortment of projects for the main church services and their kids’ ministry, ensuring each piece contributed to a unified and inviting experience.

Presence Kids:
Presence Kids is the children’s ministry of Presence Church, designed to create a warm, fun, and welcoming space for kids. The goal of this project was to develop a visual identity that reflected the energy and warmth of the ministry while staying connected to the overall church brand.
Branding Goals:
The goal for the Presence Kids logo was to visually express God’s presence in a way that felt warm, welcoming, and approachable for children. The pastor wanted the kids to feel like they were friends with God, so the branding needed to communicate friendliness, invitation, and comfort. To convey these values, I incorporated sun rays into the logo, symbolizing warmth and openness, while selecting shapes and colors that felt playful yet harmonious with the larger church identity.

Reflection:
Designing the Presence Kids brand was my first real-world, complete branding experience, and it taught me a lot about my own process of building and integrating a cohesive visual identity. I learned how to take abstract ideas—like warmth, friendship, and God’s presence—and translate them into design elements that feel unified across different applications. This project helped me understand the importance of consistency, tone, and storytelling in brand design, and it gave me a deeper appreciation for how design can shape people's feelings and connections to a space.
